Hello All,

I have asked Tia if I can help get this group a little more active as I think it would be great to find a group of strong like minded women going through the exciting challenges of motherhood solo. I am a single mom with a 5 month old little girl that I am in the process of adopting. I gather many of you are either considering having or adopting a child on your own or may have already done it. We'd like to hear from all of you. I am suggesting meeting on a weekend day to accomodate little one's schedule in the event that those that are already mommies can come ( My 5 month old will be there). Given that the group still is taking shape the first meeting will likely just be a meet and greet and hopefully lay out some ideas for how we might best support each other.

I am offering my home for our first meeting which is in Marina Del Rey. I'll have some drinks and snacks but would appreciate your RSVP so I know how many to plan for. If you are interested in participating in the group but are unable to make this meeting, we would like to hear that as well.

I am excited to meet all of you- While I continue to be thrilled to have my little girl, being a single mom has been one of the most challenging things I have done. Sharing the experience and supporting others in the process is something I look forward to.

    Katherine, I just wanted to thank you so much for last Sunday. I had a really great time and so enjoyed meeting such a diverse group of women. I thought most women would have children but, in fact, there was a nice mix of "thinkers", "tryers" and "moms". Meeting women in different stages of the process really helped me feel confident and excited about embarking on this journey! Thank you so much! Kristin
